I've been experimenting with producing art inspired from mathematical ideas for about a year now. As a result, I've accumulated an increasingly diverse and poorly organized collection of intriguing images and partial explanations. I mark my intention to make this an organized investigation with this site.
I think of the visualizations presented here as visual opinions. Even though there is often a well-defined and rigorous set of mathematical underpinnings, it is not clear how to actually visualize them. The visualizer needs to make choices.
What are we trying to visualize? What are we optimizing for? And how should we do this? There are no right approaches (though there are many wrong approaches), and it comes down to a matter of opinion.
So here is a collection of my visual opinions.
